Education to Underprivileged Children

The education program in the village of Vazidpur, 16 kms from Noida in UP is an
English medium school providing formal education to orphaned, abandoned and
underprivileged children from the rural areas. Children who came initially to the
school were first generation learners. Today, the school has over 300 children
receiving quality education from nursery to 10th standard. Besides regular teaching,
the program uses innovative, activity based methods to teach subjects like mathematics
and science. The children are encouraged to participate in inter-house school
competitions, debates, quiz competitions, sports. The program also provides training
in computer education, tailoring, cookery, embroidery and clay modeling. Many
students including lots of girls have passed out from the school and pursuing their
higher education. The best part of the project is, it provides employment to some of
its own students by appointing them as teachers in the school after completion of
their studies. The sequence of gaining knowledge from one generation to another has
started and this has only been possible because of the efforts of the project.
